Agriculture Department Recruitment 2021:
Gauhati University has issued a notification for the recruitment of 1837 numbers of sanctioned vacant post of Grade-III and Grade-IV Vacancy under the Agriculture Department, Assam, Khanapara and its Districts Offices. 1. Agriculture Extension Assistant
No of Posts: 1581 Posts
- Unreserved: 876 Posts
- OBC/MOBC: 496 Posts

Preference: Preference will be given to those candidates who have passed in Science stream and hold Rural Back Ground Certificate.
Pay Scale: Rs.14,000 – Rs.60,500 plus Grade Pay of Rs.6,200 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.
2. Junior Assistant
No of Posts: 200 Posts
- Headquarter: 47 Posts
- District Level: 153 Posts
Educational Qualification: Candidates having a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any recognized University. Also, the candidate is required to have a minimum 6 months Diploma in Computer.
Pay Scale: Rs.14,000 – Rs.60,500 plus Grade Pay of Rs.6,200 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.
3. Stenographer
No of Posts: 08 Posts
Educational Qualification: Candidates having a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from any recognized University. Also, the candidate is required to have a Grade-I Stenography Diploma with minimum speed of 80 words per minutes (English) and a minimum 6 months Diploma in Computer.
Pay Scale: Rs.14,000 – Rs.60,500 plus Grade Pay of Rs.8,700 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.
4. Steno-Typist
No of Posts: 05 Posts
- English: 04 Posts
- Assamese: 01 Posts
Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary from a government recognized board or council. Also, the candidate is required to have a Stenography Diploma with minimum speed of 80 words per minutes and a minimum 6 months Diploma in Computer.
Pay Scale: Rs.14,000 – Rs.60,500 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 6,200 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.
5. Electrician
No of Posts: 04 Posts
Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed HSLC or Matriculation from Government recognized Board or Council. Also, the candidate is required to have a 2 years Diploma in Electrical from Government ITI.
Pay Scale: Rs.14,000 – Rs.60,500 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 6,200 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.
6. PI/FI/FS/Computor
No of Posts: 24 Posts
Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary from Government recognized Board or Council with Statistics, Economics or Mathematics as one of the subject.
Pay Scale: Rs.14,000 – Rs.60,500 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 6,200 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.
7. Mechanic (Jute)
No of Posts: 06 Posts
Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed HSLC or Matriculation from Government recognized Board or Council. Also, the candidate is required to have a 2 years Diploma in Mechanical from Government ITI.
Pay Scale: Rs.14,000 – Rs.60,500 plus Grade Pay of Rs.5,600 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.
8. Grade-IV
No of Posts: 09 Posts
Educational Qualification: Candidates who have passed 8th class from a recognized institute or school.
Pay Scale: Rs.12,000 – Rs.35,000 plus Grade Pay of Rs.3,900 and other allowances as admissible under the rules.
Other Details:
Age Limit: The candidates age should be between 18 years to 40 years as on 1st January 2021.
Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.
Application Fee: No Fee.
Nationality: Candidate must be citizens of India as defined in the Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India and permanent resident of Assam.
Employment Exchange Registration Certificate: The candidate has to produce the registration certificate of employment certificate in the state of Assam along with the application form.
